During the 2010-2011 school year, Schools That Can Milwaukee partnered with sixteen district, charter and private schools. For the 2011-2012 school year, this number is increasing to 20-25 schools. STCM “Partner” schools include both local schools that have achieved STC national Member status as well as the network of high-potential schools working with STCM to drive toward excellence. At varying stages of “proficiency”, each school has a strong leader passionately dedicated to driving their school toward excellence and continuous improvement. Each is a strong community asset. Critically, each school shares Schools That Can Milwaukee’s core beliefs and come together with a vision beyond themselves – collaborating cross-sector to share best practices and learn from each other’s successes and challenges.
Person by person, school by school, the STCM partner schools are creating a growing network of high-performing “no excuses” schools dedicated to working together to ensure that all children – regardless of race, socioeconomic status or life circumstances – have an opportunity to learn and succeed.
